Third Grade Visits Cosmosphere
Space Exploration Unit

After several weeks of studying space exploration, the Third Graders ended their unit with a field trip. On Friday April 18th, both third grade classes traveled to Hutchinson for a full day at the Cosmosphere. The day began with a museum tour. The students were able to see spaceships, lunar modules, authentic space suits, the Russian satellite Sputnik, a replica of the Lunar Rover, and a real moon rock!
After the tour, the classes went to the IMAX theater where they watched a movie about the Space Station. Prior to lunch, the students had a chance to go shopping at the Cargo Bay Gift Shop. In the afternoon the students visited Dr. Goddard's Lab and watched liquid fuel burn in an experimental rocket.
It was an awesome field trip!
