What is usually stated in a counseling session, in confidence, will remain between you and a counselor. The only exceptions to this is when the student is: 1) in a condition where others are needed to assume responsibility for him/her, 2) when there is clear and immediate danger to the student, 3) or if there is a clear and immediate danger to other students. Under these circumstances, a counselor has a moral, ethical, and professional obligation to report the fact to an appropriate responsible authority and/or other emergency personnel. |
